You've dealt with the young crying phase, the running around and happy phase, the independent years, and the teen years. Your daughter is finally a full on woman. You can finally talk to her about womanly things! But to be comfortable talking like that, you have to be her best friend!

1
Plan time with her. But don't annoy her, she still has a life. But when you do make plans, go shopping, or go to a restaurant. This gives you time to talk about what's been going on in life.

2
Talk to her at family events. When you eat lunch that day, sit with her at one of the tables. A good conversation starter is asking her what she thinks of the food.

3
Call her. This obviously only works if she is living on her own or if she is at college. Call her at least once a week, if you call her enough she will start talking about her problems in life and warming up to you more so she will tell you more. Then it will be less awkward to talk about more personal things.

4
Whenever there is a family reunion or a family party, where most of the family is visiting and having a good fun time. A lot of the times the adult girls of the family will gather around and talk. This is a great time to listen to her and give your opinion (as long as it's good and reasonable), now that she is a woman, she doesn't sit and text her "girlfriends." and she doesn't play with toys either.

Tips

Make the best of the time you get to spend with her, she's getting older and getting a busier life.
Don't instantly nag her like you had to in her teen years.
